How can rankings and ratings help you make study decisions?

If you are currently researching your study options, university rankings provide a useful base for comparison, showing you each university’s strengths and how it rates on a global scale.

Remember that you can also use our Ratings and rankings to compare universities on criteria such as access and equity, the make-up of the student body, the educational experience and graduate outcomes. The fields of study section is an additional resource, giving you insight into each study area and how recent graduates have fared in the job market.

Just keep in mind that rankings and ratings do not always provide a full picture of the institution. Think of them as one of the tools to use when exploring your study options. It is still important to conduct careful research to see which university is the best fit for you. Don’t forget to visit uni websites, attend open days, education expos and industry events, and chat to your teachers, friends and family.

A university that ranks exceptionally may not be the best for your needs — whether economically or in its ability to provide the educational experience you are seeking. Conducting thorough research will ensure you choose the university that’s right for you.
