This qualification is part of the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package. It reflects the role of individuals who have a defined and limited range of hospitality operational skills and basic industry knowledge. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision. It provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shops.

About Help EnterprisesEstablished in 1968, Help Enterprises is a Registered Training Organisation located at seven different sites across Brisbane North, Redcliffe, Caboolture and Bribie Island. The provider offers courses from Certificate I to Diploma level, most of which can be funded for eligible jobseekers. Help Enterprises offers nationally-recognised training in horticulture, hospitality, engineering, automotive, construction, retail, asset maintenance, warehousing, business, aged care and disability services, training and education, and language, literacy and numeracy. Additional fee-for-service courses include construction industry white card, responsible service of alcohol, responsible service of gambling, forklift license training and food safety supervisor training. They also offer training to apprentices in automotive technologies and commercial cookery, and to trainees in aged care, disability services, business administration and management qualifications such as human resource, project and frontline management. Life after Study
Bar attendants prepare and mix drinks, serving customers in hotels, bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs and other licensed entertainment venues.
Baristas prepare and serve espresso coffee and other hot beverages to patrons in restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and dining establishments.
Hotel and motel front office attendants look after the needs of guests on arrival and during their stay in a hotel or motel.
Kitchen hands assist cooks and chefs in preparing and storing food, washing dishes and kitchen utensils, and cleaning work areas.
Porters carry luggage for guests in hotels and motels, and for passengers in transport terminals. They also show guests to their rooms, berths or cabins, and provide other guest services.
Room attendants clean and maintain rooms in hotels, motels and other places of accommodation.
Ships' catering attendants provide cabin, bar and dining services to passengers and crew on ships.
