This qualification is part of the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package. It reflects the role of individuals who have a defined and limited range of hospitality operational skills and basic industry knowledge. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision. It provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shops.

About Waverley Action for Youth Services IncEstablished in 1979, Waverley Action for Youth Services Inc (WAYS) has a Registered Training Organisation trading as Ways Youth Training (WYT) based in Bondi Junction. WYT has developed programs aimed at early school leavers, and delivers the Certificate II and III in Business, Retail, Customer Contact, Hospitality and Community services (up to Certificate IV). WAYS Youth Training aims to assist students in recognising strengths, careers pathways and getting a job. Courses can include RSA and white card. WYT also offers assistance with other barriers to learning such as literacy, numeracy, health, homelessness, addictions etc with support services and referrals. RTO code: 90114

Life after Study
Bar attendants prepare and mix drinks, serving customers in hotels, bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs and other licensed entertainment venues.
Baristas prepare and serve espresso coffee and other hot beverages to patrons in restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and dining establishments.
Hotel and motel front office attendants look after the needs of guests on arrival and during their stay in a hotel or motel.
Kitchen hands assist cooks and chefs in preparing and storing food, washing dishes and kitchen utensils, and cleaning work areas.
Porters carry luggage for guests in hotels and motels, and for passengers in transport terminals. They also show guests to their rooms, berths or cabins, and provide other guest services.
Room attendants clean and maintain rooms in hotels, motels and other places of accommodation.
Ships' catering attendants provide cabin, bar and dining services to passengers and crew on ships.
