This qualification is part of the Automotive Retail, Service and Repair Training Package. It reflects the role of individuals who perform a broad range of tasks when repairing and maintaining the body of cars, heavy vehicles and other vehicles in the automotive service and repair sector.
Subjects you can Study
Core: Read and apply automotive repair instructions; Apply safe working practices in an automotive workplace; Test, charge and replace batteries; Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment; Repair chassis, frame and associated components; plus more. Plus specialist elective units from the following areas: Vehicle body repair; Vehicle body restoration; Heavy vehicle body and chassis repair. Plus general electives.

Originally established as a tertiary institution in 1974, it became the Northern Territory University in 1989 and the Charles Darwin University in 2003.

The three main sites for delivery will be at the main ACIKE Hub CDU Casuarina campus and at the BIITE campuses at Batchelor and the Alice Springs Desert Peoples' Centre.
