This qualification is part of the Automotive Industry Retail, Service and Repair Training Package. It covers the skills and knowledge to perform a range of tasks on a variety of diesel engines and associated systems within the automotive service and repair sector.

Core: Apply safe working practices in an automotive workplace; Test and repair basic electrical circuits; Repair engines and associated engine components (heavy vehicle); Carry out diagnostic procedures; Repair diesel fuel injection systems; Dismantle and evaluate engine blocks and sub-assemblies; plus more. Electives: Repair electrical systems; Diagnose and repair heavy vehicle emission control systems; Service diesel fuel injection systems; Diagnose and repair CNG fuel systems; Perform brazing and or silver soldering; plus more.
