This qualification is part of the Community Services Training Package. Workers in this area carry out activities under direct or regular supervision to maintain personal care and other activities of living for people with a disability in the community and/or residential facilities. These workers carry out activities related to an individualised plan, report directly to a supervisor, and are not responsible for other workers.

About Cultural Immersion Pty LtdEstablished in 2009, Cultural Immersion Pty Ltd is a Registered Training Organisation offering training in floristry, retail, make-up and skin care, venues and events, youth work, education support, employment services, community services, foundation skills, education and skills development and English language and literacy. It specialises in providing accredited training, personal development services and minor case-management and counselling to disadvantaged and disengaged youth, single parents and other disadvantaged groups. Other major student groups are FLO students through ICAN, people of CaLD backgrounds (new Australians and people from non-English speaking backgrounds), mature aged students as well as those returning to study after a long absence from work. Life after Study
Disability support workers provide care, supervision and support for people with disabilities in the home, residential establishments, clinics and hospitals. They also work with other health professionals to maximise the individual's physical and mental wellbeing. They also provide companionship and emotional support, and when possible promote independence and community participation.
