It reflects the role of workers in a range of education settings, including public and independent schools and community education settings, who provide assistance and support to teachers and students under broad-based supervision.

About Open Access College and The Marden Senior College, TheEstablished in 2001, The Open Access College and The Marden Senior College is a Registered Training Organisation offering training to students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate successfully. Training is delivered to enable upgrading of skills and with the aim of providing a path to lifelong learning. Geographic location, isolation and preferred learning setting and methodologies are considered when preparing courses and course materials. The Open Access College develops and delivers distance training through a variety of mediums, including online learning. The Marden Senior College delivers face-to-face training for adults. Where work involves a specific focus on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and/or culturally diverse clients or communities, one or both of the following electives is recommended: Work effectively with culturally diverse clients and co-workers; Work effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. The following elective is required in some jurisdictions to meet legislative requirements for mandatory reporting of child abuse: Identify and respond to children and young people at risk. In some jurisdictions it is a condition of employment that Education Support Workers are competent in basic first aid.
Life after Study
Community workers encourage and assist community groups to identify their needs, participate in decision-making and develop appropriate services and facilities to meet those needs.
Education aides assist teachers with the supervision and support of students and the delivery of learning programmes. They also provide support and assistance to students with special needs, including those with physical or intellectual disabilities, or behavioural issues.
