This qualification is part of the Automotive Industry Retail, Service and Repair Training Package. It is intended to prepare new employees or recognise and develop existing workers performing mechanical work in the elevating work platform service and repair sector.

Core: Monitor environmental and sustainability best practice in the automotive mechanical industry; Apply safe working practices in an automotive workplace; Test and repair basic electrical circuits; Test, charge and replace batteries; Repair engines and associated engine components (heavy vehicle); Repair final drive assemblies (heavy vehicle); Repair final drive - driveline (heavy vehicle); Diagnose and repair light vehicle hydraulic braking systems; Carry out servicing operations; Select and use bearings, seals, gaskets, sealants and adhesives; Service hydraulic systems; Repair hydraulic systems; Carry out diagnostic procedures; plus more and electives.
