This qualification is part of the Forest and Wood Products Training Package. It is designed for job roles in the harvesting and haulage sector of the forest and forest products industry. Elective streams include: Harvesting operations; Grading and testing; Machinery and equipment; Fire control; Site establishment and maintenance; Planning and analysis; Communication and relationships; Administration and business; Safety and quality processes; Load handling; Specialist machinery and equipment; Truck driving. Job roles include: Bulldozer operator; Excavator operator; Forest harvester; Forwarder operator; Log truck driver; Feller buncher operator; Harvesting technician; Loader operator; In-field Chipper operator; Mobile equipment operator, and Skidder operator.

Life after Study
Forest workers assist with growing, maintaining and harvesting timber plantations.
Mobile plant operators drive backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, graders, scrapers, skid-steer loaders, rollers and forklift trucks to level, excavate, move and load earth, rock and other material.
Timber harvesting operators undertake a range of tasks to do with the harvesting and maintenance of trees in natural forests and plantations, including logging, felling and sawing trees.
