This qualification is part of the Australian Meat Processing Training Package. It covers work activities undertaken by workers in rendering plants. It will provide a wide range of cognitive, technical and communication skills to select and apply a specialised range of tools, materials and information to complete routine activities and provide and transmit solutions to predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems.

They are registered to deliver training throughout Australia. In 2015, FSOQ purchased the training division of Symbio Alliance, another strong national training organisation. Meat processing workers perform a wide range of tasks, including handling, slaughtering and processing livestock; operating processing and rendering equipment; dispatching products; and keeping records.
