About WH&S More SkillsEstablished in 1995, WH&S More Skills is a Registered Training Organisation that delivers outcomes for people working in the construction, manufacturing, transport, energy and mining industries. It is accredited to provide training and assessment for licences to perform high risk work (LHRW) and other competencies. It can provide formal training and assessment, refresher courses, verification's of competency and skills audits. The provider can also provide on-site and off-site training solutions. Licences to perform high risk work include: Dogging; Rigging (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced); Bridge & Gantry crane (CB); Mobile cranes; Forklifts; Elevated Work Platform; Vehicle Loading crane; Scaffolding; and Materials Hoist. Other competencies include Working Safely at Heights, Confined Space Entry, Earthmoving, Swing stage scaffold (user & installer), Gantry or Overhead crane (RII), Telehandler and EWP Yellow Card. Its 4,000 sqm training facility at Salisbury in Brisbane is equipped with eight training rooms and plant and equipment to undertake all training courses. It offers tailored training plans which integrate with clients safe operating procedures (SOP's) to ensure that training outcomes provide not just a licence for an employee but an overall understanding of how the training relates to their everyday work procedures and a safer working environment. It aims to create a model which delivers organisational cultural change, where a competent individual understands the plant they are being trained on as well as its relationship to an employer's SOP's. WH&S More Skills seeks long term relationships with clients to ensure a consistent training approach across different sites and an understanding of all safety aspects of their sites, plant and work processes. Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
