This qualification is part of the Community Services Training Package. It reflects the role of workers in a range of education settings, including public and independent schools and community education settings, who provide assistance and support to teachers and students under broad-based supervision.
Subjects you can Study
Core: Support behaviour of children and young people; Comply with legislative, policy and industrial requirements in the education environment; Assist in facilitation of student learning; Work with students in need of additional support; Use educational strategies to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander education; plus more. Community workers encourage and assist community groups to identify their needs, participate in decision-making and develop appropriate services and facilities to meet those needs.
Education aides assist teachers with the supervision and support of students and the delivery of learning programmes. They also provide support and assistance to students with special needs, including those with physical or intellectual disabilities, or behavioural issues.
