This qualification is part of the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package. It reflects the role of personnel working within an organic farming enterprise who manage enterprise production units, manage the certification and continued compliance with organic standards and develop and maintain organic produce supply chains. It is designed to meet the needs of owners and managers of organic farming enterprises.

Students can also study a Federation University degree at Federation Training, with flexible pathway options that take them from diploma to bachelor degree in just 2-3 years.

Farmers and farm managers undertake farming operations to raise livestock and cultivate crops, fruit, vegetables and other agricultural products.
A farmer is a self-employed person who farms their own land or a leasehold property rented from a landowner. A farm manager is an employee who is paid a salary to manage a farm or group of farms.
