This program is designed to equip teachers to meet the special educational, social and emotional needs of students with high intellectual potential. The Graduate Certificate focuses on the needs of students in the regular school system, although the lifespan needs of gifted individuals are also addressed.

18 units. Students study 4 topics: Conceptions of Giftedness, Intelligence and Creativity; Curriculum and Differentiation; Program Design and Evaluation; Affective Development. Classes are held in a combination of intensive and external mode. All lectures are held during school vacations in January and July and most students study part-time.

Primary school teachers educate primary school children by planning and conducting an education programme to develop literacy and numeracy, as well as the physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth of their students.
Secondary school teachers teach one or more subjects within the school curriculum to secondary students.
