This training program is made up of units from the Community Services and Health Training Packages. The units are drawn from the Certificate III in Individual Support and provide an introduction for workers employed in a hospital setting in patient services. It is offered under the Australian Apprenticeship Access Program.

About Djerriwarrh Community & Education ServicesEstablished in 1989, Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services is a community-based not for profit Registered Training Organisation delivering a range of services in western suburbs of Melbourne. Djerriwarrh works together with the community, similar organisations, participants, clients and local, state and federal governments. It specialises in adult education, training and youth support services. Djerriwarrh's head office is based in Melton with other sites in Sunbury, St Albans and Sunshine. Djerriwarrh education and training services include: Adult Community and Further Education, literacy and numeracy services including Skills for Education and Employment, government contracted training, fee-for-service training including Drink Drive education and Djerriwarrh Community House. On completion of the accredited training participants are supported in a traineeship in a hospital setting or in job search support.
The program includes pre-vocational training, time limited Job Search Support and Post Placement support.
Life after Study
Aged care workers provide care, supervision and support for aged people in residential establishments, clinics, hospitals and private residence. Aged care workers assist with the maintenance of personal care, domestic duties and management of illness. They also provide companionship and emotional support, and promote independence and community participation.
Disability support workers provide care, supervision and support for people with disabilities in the home, residential establishments, clinics and hospitals. They also work with other health professionals to maximise the individual's physical and mental wellbeing. They also provide companionship and emotional support, and when possible promote independence and community participation.
