This unit is part of the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package. It describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to responsibly sell or serve alcohol. Responsible practices must be undertaken wherever alcohol is sold or served, including where alcohol samples are served during on-site product tastings. This unit, therefore, applies to any workplace where alcohol is sold or served, including all types of hospitality venues, packaged liquor outlets and wineries, breweries and distilleries. It incorporates the knowledge requirements, under state and territory liquor licensing law, for employees engaged in the sale or service of alcohol.

About Campaspe College of Adult EducationEstablished in 1980, Campaspe College of Adult Education in Echuca is an Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) and Learn Local Registered Training Organisation that provides clients with training and further education pathways. Courses are delivered on and off campus through a flexible learning approach that is customised to meet client needs. Campaspe College has an enrol at any time approach where students join an existing class and commence their study when a new unit of study is commenced. Students enter and finish the ongoing program throughout the year. Most classes are restricted to 16 enrolments. This unit covers the RSA skill and knowledge requirements common to all States and Territories. Some legislative requirements and knowledge will differ across borders. In some cases after completion of this unit, state and territory liquor authorities require candidates to complete a bridging course to address these specific differences.
