International Career Institute Journalism Course Scholarship

Description: The International Career Institute is offering a scholarship to an aspiring journalist. The study program will be delivered as a distance learning course.

Eligibility: The scholarship is open to existing and prospective students. Selection is based on: merit; leadership qualities; potential to contribute to industry and society; and economic circumstances.

Annual Amount: $2,000

Amount Comment: The scholarship is valued at $2,000 for 1 year.

Application closing date: 31 October

Other Details: To apply, applicants must submit to the International Career Institute a feature or news story in one of the following formats: a newspaper article (500-800 words); a radio bulletin; or a television news broadcast (2 minutes). Submissions must be original and applicants can choose any topic provided it has not yet been covered in the news. Only true stories with reliable sources will be accepted. In addition to the story, applicants must supply a letter of no more than 250 words explaining their reasons for wanting to become a journalist as well as a document listing sources and contact details for people mentioned or interviewed.
