Your tertiary education is a significant and step in your career journey. While you learn the theory of your chosen discipline, there are also plenty of opportunities to learn about becoming employable and navigating your career.

What kind of career support does your uni provide?

Most universities have small teams of Career Support Practitioners, who work with students individually or in groups.   

Career Support Practitioners can help you with things like:

  • directing you toward relevant online resources 

  • offering advice on internships 

  • helping you towards finding Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities 

  • sourcing volunteering opportunities.  

Many study programs include opportunity to work in the industry you are studying. Internships, Work Integrated Learning and volunteering experiences are excellent ways build your technical and employability skills, and to grow your professional network.
