A Bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging (Honours) degree provides you with the skills and experience to become a registered radiographer. Learn how use different medical imaging techniques including x-ray, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) from experienced radiographers.

Structure

The course develops professional expertise through studies in human biology, the digital technology underpinning radiography and medical imaging, radiographic and medical imaging science with extended periods of evidence based professional practice and research.

Standard entry requirements

Applicants must be 18 years of age 31 March 2023, to meet the mandatory requirements for clinical placements.All Monash undergraduate courses require you to have successfully completed a minimum of an Australian Year 12 qualification (or equivalent) and achieve the required academic entry score. Most Monash faculties generally use your most recent studies for admission however other guidelines may apply where your prior qualification may be considered.

Recognition

Accredited by Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR); Graduates register as radiographers with the Medical Radiation Practitioners Board of Victoria

Study pathways

University: Two single units at an Australian higher education institution satisfy minimum entry requirements if the student has not undertaken a formal program of study at or above VCE Yr 12 (or equivalent), but more units may be useful for selection, especially in areas of study related to the course in which admission is being sought. Applicants should have at least a distinction (70%) average in their studies. Studies must have been completed within seven years of intended commencement. Supplementary form: Non-school leavers and internal course transfer applicants must complete an online supplementary form. Further information

Students undertaking a Faculty Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences course with clinical or fieldwork placements must demonstrate compliance with police, working with children checks and immunisation requirements. First Aid Course: Students are required to undertake a first aid course (including CPR) before undertaking clinical placements.
