This qualification is part of the Community Services Training Package. It applies to community work delivered through a broad range of services which provide support to individuals and groups. This level is appropriate for support workers, case workers and client contact officers who may provide day-to-day support in community settings and/or provide assistance with entitlements and benefits under the broad direction of others. Generally these positions have direct contact with clients, identify presenting needs and refer to appropriate services and support.

13 units: 8 core; 5 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Work within the administration protocols of the organisation; Work within a community development framework; Communicate appropriately with clients and colleagues; Provide first point of contact; Work effectively in the community sector; Participate in networks; Participate effectively in the work environment; Follow WHS safety procedures for direct care work; or Contribute to WHS processes. Electives: Facilitate responsible behaviour; Respond holistically to client issues and refer appropriately; Develop and implement community programs; Provide education and support on parenting, health and wellbeing; plus more.
