The PUA30419 Certificate III in Public Safety (SES Rescue) is designed for experienced community, volunteer and emergency service organisational personnel to develop the knowledge and skills required to assist in emergency response rescue situations.State Emergency Services (SES) assist with emergency responses to floods, storms, earthquakes and tsunamis. They also assist in road accidents, search and rescue operations and often play a support role during major bushfire responses. The SES also assists in the development and implementation of local emergency management plans and the provision of community education programs.This qualification includes the units of competency required by SES personnel to perform a range of activities including participating in the application of rescue techniques during search and rescue operations, responding to disasters, assisting in search and rescue operations, identifying and mitigating hazards, maintaining communication, selecting and using equipment and responding to incidents with rescue objectives. It typically involves working as a team member, under direction, in responding to incidents.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
