Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) (Honours)

Inspire curiosity as a secondary school teacher. With this accredited teaching degree, you'll be qualified to teach students from years 7-12. In this degree you'll learn how to create positive learning and engaging environments and explore adolescent development. Gain experience creating lesson sequences, supporting individual learning goals and leading assessments - skills that are essential for fostering student success. As part of your studies, you'll build specialised knowledge across two subject areas aligned with the Australian Curriculum. You'll undertake 80 days' worth of placements, where you'll gain hands-on experience in real schools. You'll graduate classroom-ready, equipped to lead purposeful and relevant learning. This degree will make you eligible to apply for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia (TRB).

Entry requirements

  • Secondary education (Year 12).
  • Completion of a secondary education qualification equivalent to the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET).
  • Completion of an award from a registered training organisation (RTO) at Diploma (AQF level 5) or higher.
  • Higher education study.
  • Successful completion of at least 6 months full-time study (or equivalent part-time) in a higher education award program.
