Apprentice and Traineeship Co, The

This qualification is part of the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. It provides an occupational outcome and a range of support tasks applicable to a majority of construction work sites. Students who complete this qualification may secure employment as a builder's labourer.

Structure:

15 units: 10 core; 5 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry; Plan and organise work; Conduct workplace communication; Carry out measurements and calculations; Read and interpret plans and specifications; Use construction tools and equipment; Apply basic levelling procedures; Carry out concreting to simple forms; Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry. Electives: Licence to operate a forklift truck; Control traffic with stop-slow bat; Carry out excavation; Use explosive power tools; plus more.

Study Pathways:

The qualification has core units of competency that are required in many Certificate III qualifications. The elective options are structured to allow choice from a range of units aligned at Certificate III level and in total could provide meaningful credit in a construction industry Australian Apprenticeship.
