Apprentice and Traineeship Co, The

This qualification is part of the Metal and Engineering Training Package. It is designed for people who are employed in the heavy and light fabrication industries (i.e. sheetmetal trade or boilermaker trade) at C10 level in the metal and engineering industry.

Core: Assist in provision of on-the-job training; Perform routine oxy acetylene welding; Carry out mechanical cutting; Perform manual heating and thermal cutting; Perform routine manual metal arc welding; Perform routine gas tungsten arc welding; Perform routine gas metal arc welding; Interpret technical drawing; Undertake manual handling; Perform engineering measurements; Perform computations; Apply principles of OHS in the work environment; Plan to undertake a routine task; Apply quality systems; Apply quality procedures; Work with others in a manufacturing, engineering or related environment; Use hand tools; Use power tools/hand held operations.
