This qualification is part of the Sport, Fitness and Recreation Training Package. It provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in guiding outdoor recreation activities in an uncontrolled environment, and instructing outdoor recreation skills.

Entry Requirements:

Relevant Certificate III or previous experience in the industry

Structure:

31 units: 15 core; 16 elective

Core: Develop work priorities; Provide first aid; Plan outdoor recreation activities; Manage risk in an outdoor activity; Develop and coordinate programs incorporating outdoor activities; Interpret weather conditions in the field; Apply search and rescue skills; Address client needs; Respond to emergency situations; Promote compliance with laws and legal principles; Conduct projects; Implement and monitor OHS policies; Support implementation of environmental management practices; Use resources efficiently; Provide work skill instruction. Electives: Perform complex vertical rescues; Apply intermediate bushwalking skills; Apply river crossing skills; Apply canoeing skills; plus more.
