This qualification is part of the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. It provides a trade outcome in wall and ceiling lining.

An apprenticeship contract


26 units: 19 core; 7 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry; Plan and organise work; Conduct workplace communication; Carry out measurements and calculations; Read and interpret plans and specifications; Work safely at heights; Fix standard plasterboard wall sheets; Fix standard plasterboard ceiling sheets; Fix battens; Fix wet area sheets; Fix ceiling sheets to external protected areas; Fix fibre cement board; Apply levels of finish standards to planning and inspection of own work; Mix plastering compounds; Finish plasterboard joins manually; Manually sand plaster work; Finish category 1 and 2 wet areas; Cut and fix paper-faced cornices; plus more and electives.

Further information:

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
