This qualification is part of the Electrotechnology Training Package. It provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain telecommunications and high performance data services in buildings and premises. It includes ACMA requirements for Open Cabler Registration.

Structure:

16 core; plus electives

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Participate in voice and data communications work and competency development activities; Apply OHS regulations, codes and practices in the workplace; Fabricate, dismantle, assemble of utilities industry components; Solve problems in DC circuits; Fix and secure electrotechnology equipment; Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications; Lay wiring/cabling and terminate accessories for ELV circuits; plus more. Electives: Provide quotations for installation or service jobs; Comply with scheduled and preventative maintenance program processes; Install aerial telecommunication cables; plus more.
