Australian Academy of Hairdressing, The

This qualification is part of the Hairdressing Training Package. It is for individuals who want to gain employment as salon assistants and are competent in communicating in the workplace, interacting with and providing service to clients and assisting colleagues. The course provides an overview of the hairdressing industry and graduates will also acquire some practical skills in hairdressing. As part of the course, students will be required to perform routine functions under direct supervision as part of a hairdressing team.

Core: Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices; Perform shampoo and basin treatment services; Greet and prepare clients for salon services; Dry hair to shape; Maintain and organise tools, equipment and work areas; Apply salon safety procedures; Communicate in the workplace; Work effectively in a retail environment. Plus electives.
