This MBA dual degree program will equip students for senior managerial roles across a broad spectrum of industries in the public and private sectors. It meets the highest relevant industry standards, and on successful completion of the program students will be eligible to apply for Australian Computer Society membership. The Master of Information Technology aims to equip graduates with high-level professional skills in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and a sound understanding of the integration of computer-based information systems in a modern business environment. It provides students with an opportunity to specialise in one of the following areas: Applications development; Business analysis; Database administration.

Entry Requirements:

Bachelor degree in a related discipline; or bachelor degree in a different discipline and evidence of substantial industry experience; or postgraduate award of at least than 4 units; or relevant professional managerial experience of at least 2 years full-time or equivalent part-time. In special circumstances, applicants who do not meet any of the above requirements but who have a sound and sufficient basis for application can apply directly to the Course Coordinator. Applicants must provide a portfolio demonstrating that their knowledge, experience, and skills are such that they are likely to succeed in the program. International students need to meet English Language Proficiency requirements.

Structure:

240 credit points consisting of: 100 credit points from the Informatics Core Units; 40 credit points from professional Pathway units; 20 credits points of Information System Project units; 50 credit points from Business Administration Core Units; 30 credit points of Elective Units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings in any FLB postgraduate award.

MBA dual degree graduates may be eligible to pursue a higher degree by research in their area of specialisation.

Recognition:

Students who complete this program are eligible for Australian Computer Society (ACS) membership following appropriate work experience.
