Ramsay Scholarship
Australian Catholic University (ACU)
Established in 2020, this scholarship supports commencing students enrolling full-time in the Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation) or the Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation)/Bachelor of Laws at the North Sydney campus. An ACU Ramsay Scholar is a future leader committed to the enrichment of society and the promotion of the common good. In pursuit of this endeavour they demonstrate a passion for intellectual engagement with ideas and great questions that have shaped Western Civilisation. The essential quality of their intellectual engagement is a critical habit of mind demonstrated through debate and discussion of ideas, and careful consideration of different views and perspectives and the dignity of those who hold them.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to applicants who will be commencing their course and who meet all the following criteria:Citizenship: Australian citizen, permanent resident or holder of a permanent humanitarian visaCourse: Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation) or the Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation)/Bachelor of LawsCampus: North SydneyStudy load: full-time Year Level: commencing first yearAcademic ability as ordinarily demonstrated by projected minimum section rank of 92 based on ATAR and adjustment factorsPrevious education: Completed year 12in the year of application; orin the preceding three yearsHave not undertaken tertiary study, other than secondary school advancement programs or first year Bachelor level study.
Amount | $30,000 The scholarship is valued at up to $90,000 for students enrolling in the Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation) or $150,000 for students enrolling in the Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation)/Bachelor of Laws. The scholarship will be paid in instalments of $15,000 per semester.Recipients are eligible to receive 25% remission of rental fees in an NRAS Studio or Premium Studio apartment on a 12 month agreement at ACU Miguel Cordero Residence in Camperdown. (see the accommodation offer section below for further details.)Recipients are also eligible to receive one return economy airfare to participate in an approved program of study abroad as part of the course.There are up to 30 scholarships available. |
