Established in 1999, the Australian College of Environmental Studies is a Registered Training Organisation that is the only college to offer nationally accredited training in building biology (healthy homes) and feng shui Building biology is a rapidly growing industry which involves identifying the health hazards in the built environment from electromagnetic fields, mould, particulates and allergens to chemicals in household products and building materials. Their building biology graduates have been used as expert witnesses in legal cases The college has trained the majority of feng shui consultants in Australia, some of whom founded the Feng Shui associations.

The course is partly online and on campus. Online training involves videos of the lectures, comprehensive manuals, and access to a tutor. Students are required to attend an intensive in order to fulfil the practical component of the Building Biology and Feng Shui courses.
