This qualification is part of the Community Services Training Package. Workers in this role are responsible for the coordination and management of agencies delivering services to people with a disability. They are usually also involved in service delivery, either direct client work and/or community development projects and have responsibility for supervision of other staff and volunteers.

Entry Requirements:

Prerequisite units from Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent; or relevant vocational experience

Structure:

16 units: 12 core; 4 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Provide advocacy and representation services; Undertake case management for clients with complex needs; Coordinate complex case requirements; Develop, facilitate and monitor all aspects of case management; Develop, implement and review services and programs to meet client needs; Work intensively with clients; Coordinate services for people with disabilities; Meet statutory and organisation information requirements; Develop new networks; Coordinate the work environment; Access evidence and apply in practice; Maintain OHS processes. Plus electives.

Where work involves a specific focus on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and/or culturally diverse clients or communities, one or both of the following electives is recommended: Work effectively with culturally diverse clients and co-workers; Work effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
