Name: Caitlin Squillari

Course: Bachelor of Sports Business

22-year-old sports fanatic Caitlin Squillari transformed her childhood dream into a reality when she landed a highly coveted job as Client Services Specialist with iconic rugby league team the Sydney Roosters.

Caitlin has quickly clocked up her share of unforgettable moments since joining the Roosters team, with the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) graduate using her skills and passion to connect with members and help ensure an ‘electric’ atmosphere for fans.

‘I absolutely love my job — how many people can say they are paid to turn children into sporting fans and ensure game day is an unforgettable experience for the crowd?’ said Caitlin.

‘When we played the Brisbane Broncos in Sydney earlier this year, I walked down the player entrance tunnel out onto the packed Allianz Stadium with tens of thousands of screaming fans and I had goosebumps all over. ’Caitlin also pointed to working on the Sydney Roosters NRL finals series as a career highlight.

‘Sydney’s whole Eastern suburbs were buzzing and the vibe at the time was just incredible. I’ve also had the chance to attend the NRL ‘Best and Fairest’ Dally M medal awards — walking the red carpet was surreal,’ said Caitlin.

Caitlin was offered the position with the Roosters after working as Game Day Coordinator for the Penrith Panthers, a role she secured after volunteering with the popular sporting team throughout her studies.

According to Caitlin, she would not have been able successful in winning either role without the mentoring and networking opportunities offered by ACPE.

‘There is an absolute advantage to having a Sports Business degree from ACPE. I met so many big names in the industry and was even able to do my degree internship with rugby league legend Brad Fittler,’ said Caitlin.

‘We did so much networking during our studies it was hard not to develop a list of valuable contacts!’ said Caitlin.
