This qualification is part of the Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package. It reflects the role of employees such as drillers' assistants who undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and who take some responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.

Core: Work effectively with others; Communicate in the workplace; Identify and assess environmental and heritage concerns; Load, secure and unload drilling equipment and materials; Set up/pack up drill site; Support drilling process; Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures; Conduct local risk control. Electives: Assist continuous flight auger drilling; Assist guided boring; Assist with air drilling; Operate a forklift; Cut, weld and bend materials; Operate light vehicle; Licence to perform dogging; plus more.
