This qualification is part of the Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package. It reflects the role of employees such as senior drillers. They perform tasks involving a broad range of varied activities most of which are complex and non-routine. They are responsible for the quantity and quality of the output of others and contribute to the development of technical solutions to non-routine problems.

Entry Requirements:

No minimum education. Prerequisite units may apply to some electives.

Structure:

11 units: 6 core; 5 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Apply site risk management system; Supervise on-site operations; Implement and monitor environmental policies; Plan and supervise mobilization of equipment, crew and materials; Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements; Show leadership in the workplace. Electives: Supervise underground in-seam directional drilling operations; Manage non-routine, complex technical situations; Apply a quality management system on site; plus more.

Further information:

There are both licensed and non-licensed units of competency relating to high risk work in the Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package. To be appointed under any statutory requirements in related roles, units of competency should be selected to meet the state/territory licensing requirements.
