In the MA Screen: Sound, students will explore sound as a medium and investigate the ways in which sound can be produced, edited and manipulated with the image to engage and inform, as well as to communicate with and create an emotional response in an audience. Through a combination of practice-based learning and theory, students will critically evaluate the techniques and technologies of sound production and design. Knowledge is no substitute for ideas, courage and experimentation, which will be nurtured throughout the process. Students will be encouraged to challenge norms and build a critically informed, creative practice with a view to contemporary screen production, future platforms and changing work practices.
