This qualification is part of the Textiles, Clothing and Footwear Training Package. It is designed to provide high-level skills in fashion design and also provides options for high-level skills in specialist patternmaking, managing design and product development processes, and management of fashion design systems.

Core: Follow defined OHS policies and procedures; Identify fibres and fabrics; Modify patterns to create basic styles; Draw and interpret a basic sketch; Identify fabric performance and handling requirements; Identify design process for fashion designs; Apply design studio process; Interact and network with fashion industry participants; Develop product specifications for fashion design; Evaluate commercial viability of designs; Manage product development of fashion designs; Manage fashion design process; Develop a fashion range; Apply studio processes to create and produce designs for commercial production. Plus electives.
