This qualification is part of the Live Performance and Entertainment Training Package. It is a preparatory qualification that allows learners to develop basic technical skills and knowledge to prepare for work in the live performance industry.

Structure:

10 units: 7 core; 3 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Work effectively with others; Develop basic dance techniques; Incorporate artistic expression into basic dance performances; Prepare for performances; Follow safe dance practices; Develop a basic level of physical condition for dance performance; Develop and apply creative arts industry knowledge. Electives: Perform basic jazz dance technique; Perform basic ballet technique; Perform basic tap technique; Perform basic street dance technique; Perform basic contemporary dance technique; Develop basic staging skills; Develop basic lighting skills and knowledge; plus more.

Established in 2014, Australian Performing Arts Network is a Registered Training Organisation offering training in performing arts. They currently hold certifications for Certificate II in Dance, Certificate IV in Dance, Certificate IV in Musical Theatre, and Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts with a choice of Major (Commercial Dance) or (Musical Theatre).
