This qualification is part of the Transport and Logistics Training Package. It is a general qualification for a person engaged in basic operations within the rail infrastructure environment undertaking a range of tasks involving known routines and procedures, and taking some responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.

16 units: 7 core; 7 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Maintain and use hand tools; Shift materials safely using manual handling methods; Participate in basic workplace communication; Follow WHS procedures; Apply fatigue management strategies; Safely access the rail corridor. Electives: Apply track fundamentals; Install and repair rail fastening systems; Carry out measurements and calculations; Read and interpret plans and job specifications; Measure and record track geometry; Propel and operate light on-track equipment; plus more.
