This qualification is part of the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package. It provides the skills and knowledge which underpin a range of work functions and job roles that can lead to a horticultural trade qualification.

Core: Participate in work health and safety processes; Recognise plants; Treat weeds; Treat plant pests, diseases and disorders; Assist with soil or growing media sampling and testing. Electives: Apply a range of treatments to trees; Perform pruning operations; Operate and maintain chainsaws; Assist with landscape construction work; Operate tractors; plus more.

Australian Training and Consulting is a Registered Training Organisation that offers training in business, hospitality, horticulture, civil construction and local government. The provider also has WorkCover NSW assessors for OHS and National OHS Operator certificates. It offers training to new entrant trainees, and can provide federally funded training for existing worker trainees. The provider is approved to deliver training courses in line with the Australian Skills Vouchers and Work Skills Vouchers schemes.
