Operate and Maintain Chainsaws (AHC Unit)

This unit is part of the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package. It describes the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a hand-held chainsaw and maintain it in working condition. It applies to cross-cutting fallen timber using safe cutting techniques. It applies to individuals who undertake defined activities with specialised tools and methods, work in a structured context, apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and limited judgement, and provide solutions to a limited range of predictable problems.

Australian Training and Consulting is a Registered Training Organisation that offers training in business, hospitality, horticulture, civil construction and local government. The provider also has WorkCover NSW assessors for OHS and National OHS Operator certificates. It offers training to new entrant trainees, and can provide federally funded training for existing worker trainees.
