This qualification is part of the Aviation Training Package. It is a specialist qualification for the aviation industry. It fosters the self-directed application of knowledge and skills, with substantial depth in some areas where judgement is required in planning and selecting appropriate equipment, services and techniques for self and others. Applications involve participation in the development of strategic initiatives as well as personal responsibility and autonomy in performing complex technical operations or organising others. It may include participation in teams, including those concerned with planning and evaluation functions.

Entry Requirements:

Certificate IV in Aviation - Commercial Pilot Aeroplane Licence; or Certificate IV in Aviation - Commercial Pilot Helicopter Licence; or ability to demonstrate equivalent competence


12 units: 8 core; 4 elective

Core: Conduct aeronautical knowledge training; Conduct flight training; Conduct training for the issue of an endorsement; Conduct flight review; Make a presentation; Provide work skill instruction; Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace; Assess competence. Elective streams: Safety management; Resource management; Training and assessment; Leadership and supervision.
