Avondale College of Higher Education

Avondale College of Higher Education is a self-accrediting private provider of Christian higher education, offering a broad range of undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational education (VET) courses. Avondale offers undergraduate degrees in Arts, Business, Science, Education, Nursing, and Theology. Postgraduate studies, from Masters coursework degrees to Doctoral research level, are available in Arts, Education, Philosophy, Leadership and Management, Nursing, Ministry and Theology.

Established in 1897, Avondale operates on two campuses: Lake Macquarie (NSW Central Coast) and Sydney (Wahroonga). Avondale is a member of the worldwide Adventist system of universities and colleges, and welcomes all students who desire higher education in a Christian context.

Students come from all states of Australia and from overseas. Avondale has three residential halls on-campus, where students can take advantage of the social, intellectual, sporting and spiritual activities available.

Description Through the generosity of Pastor Alfred W Jorgensen, a former lecturer in the Faculty of Theology at Avondale, a trust fund has been established to provide financial assistance in the form of scholarships to theology students at Avondale.
Eligibility Applicants must: be third year students applying for, or currently enrolled in: the Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Ministry degree, or second year students enrolled in the concurrent Graduate Diploma in Ministry/Graduate Diploma in Theology; be intending to enter the preaching ministry of the SDA Church; be a baptised member of the SDA Church; and demonstrate need. There are no restrictions on citizenship. The scholarship may be held concurrently with another Avondale College scholarship.
