21 units: 13 core; 8 elective

Core: Inspect and service diesel fuel injection systems; Diagnose and repair engine forced-induction systems; Overhaul diesel fuel injection system components; Carry out diagnostic procedures; Diagnose and repair heavy vehicle diesel fuel injection systems; Follow environmental and sustainability best practice in an automotive workplace; plus more. Electives: Diagnose and repair light vehicle diesel fuel injection systems; Install hydraulic systems to specified applications; Diagnose and repair exhaust systems; Fabricate and install fluid power hose assemblies; Carry out manual metal arc welding on components; Diagnose and repair heavy vehicle compression ignition engines; plus more.

Study Pathways:

Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis; Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling or other relevant qualifications.
