Certificate II in Security Operations

This qualification is part of the Property Services Training Package. It aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to provide security services including crowd control and security guarding. The content includes legislation relevant to the industry, communication skills, customer service, teamwork, basic first aid, managing intoxicated persons, reporting security incidents, OHS, basic self defence and emergency procedures.

12 units: 7 core; 5 elective

Core: Communicate effectively in the security industry; Follow workplace safety procedures in the security industry; Work effectively in the security industry; Respond to security risk situation; Work as part of a security team; Provide security services to clients; Apply first aid. Electives: Control and direct traffic; Screen people; Give evidence in court; Control access to and exit from premises; Patrol premises; Protect self and others using basic defensive techniques; Contribute to investigative activities; plus more.
