Bendigo TAFE

This qualification is part of the Visual Arts, Crafts and Design Training Package. It allows learners to develop the basic art-making skills that underpin visual arts and craft practice. The local cultural knowledge necessary to achieve some of the units of competency in this qualification may only be accessible to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people. Any organisation or individual planning to offer this qualification would be expected to work closely with the local Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community, for example through establishing a local Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander reference group.

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Participate in OHS processes; Use basic drawing techniques; Develop understanding of own Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity; Make simple creative work; Source and use information relevant to own arts practice. Electives: Work with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander cultural material; Apply critical thinking techniques; Develop basic dance techniques; Perform basic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance technique; Evaluate the nature of design in a specific industry context; Develop glassworking skills; Carry out measurements and calculations; Make an object from cloth using an existing pattern; plus more.
