The Bachelor of Communication gives students the ideal mix of theory and practice, combining foundational studies in Communication and Media with focused studies in a professional discipline including Journalism and Public Relations. It also allows students to pursue focused studies in the fields of Corporate Communication, Media and Advertising. The degree allows for a range of combinations of these studies, with students able to select a combination which will give them the best of both worlds; excellent career prospects and a stimulating course of study. The Bachelor of Laws prepares students for a career as a legal professional, both within Australia and overseas. It provides students with a thorough grounding in essential areas of substantive law and access to a wide choice of law elective subjects, including the option of completing a specialisation. An integrated skills and professionalism program is embedded in the degree and focuses on core legal skills essential to the practice of law. The Bachelor of Laws provides an engaging learning experience that challenges students academically and prepares them practically for a legal career.

Entry Requirements:

Bond University requires the successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent for entry to Bachelor level programs. Bond does not rely solely on the Overall Position (OP) or the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). Rather, a range of criteria are also considered such as extracurricular activities and personal attributes, including outstanding leadership qualities and community involvement.

Structure:

40 subjects. 3 University Core subjects; 6 Communication Compulsory Subjects; 6 Specialist Major subjects; 1 Combined Faculty Elective subject; 17 Compulsory Law subjects; and 7 Law Elective subjects.

The Bachelor of Communication / Bachelor of Laws enables you to graduate with two undergraduate degrees. The combined degree provides you with the professional outcomes and opportunities of both individual degrees. Please refer to the individual programs for professional outcomes. Completing this combined program will provide opportunities for a range of careers in private, government and not for profit sectors. Graduates may seek to practise law whilst utilising a foundational understanding of the communication and media industries, or employ their understanding of Law to work in media industries with a background in compliance, regulation and intellectual property.
