This qualification is part of the Foundation Skills Training Package. It is designed for individuals who need skills to prepare for a vocational pathway qualification or further foundation skills development. It is suitable for individuals who require: a prevocational pathway to employment and vocational training; reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills at Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 2; entry level digital technology and employability skills; or education, training and employment goals.

11 units: 7 core; 4 elective

Core: Use digital technology for simple workplace tasks; Use simple strategies for work-related learning; Identify and use whole numbers and simple fractions, decimals and percentages for work; Identify, measure and estimate familiar quantities for work; Participate in simple spoken interactions at work; Read and respond to simple workplace information; Write simple workplace information. Established in 1973, Central Australian Remote Health Development Services Limited is a Registered Training Organisation. It has been established to develop the capacity of Aboriginal people and health professionals to improve community health outcomes and to increase effective Aboriginal control over primary health care service delivery. CARHDS is directly controlled by and accountable to the primary health care industry to meet in service training needs as determined by the employer. It has a primary focus on providing regional support in order to improve access to, and equity in, the provision of in service training for all workers and boards with a particular emphasis upon Aboriginal health workers. CARHDS has expanded to include Top End communities since 2013.
