This course is designed to increase skill levels in Maths, Employment Application Techniques and Practical Skills. Certificate I in Industrial Skills (Entry Level Training) is an enabling course which should provide the participants with the basic knowledge, communication and practical skills to progress into a higher qualification which may lead to the acquisition of the necessary skills, confidence and knowledge at entry level to work in a range of Industries including the Construction, Horticulture, Mining, Civil Construction, Engineering and Automotive Industries or to apply and/or obtain a Traineeship/Apprenticeship.

Engineering drawing interpretation; First aid; Functional mathematics; Hand power tools; Industrial skills practice; Job seeking skills; Measurement - introduction; Mechanical components; OH&S; Vehicle systems; Welding and thermal cutting; Workplace communication; Writing skills for work.

Study Pathways:

Completion of this course provides learners with entry level knowledge and skills and may lead into a qualification stream/pathway of their choice e.g. Certificate I in Engineering, General Construction, Automotive, Horticulture, Transport and Distribution - Warehousing
