The Undergraduate Certificate Introduction to Nursing and Midwifery is a one-year, part-time, 100%% online course that offers you the opportunity to upskill, reskill and retrain in nursing and midwifery. This course will assist in meeting the academic pathway into higher education courses across the nursing and midwifery disciplines. Apply by 26 February to save 20%% on course fees for 2021.* During this course you will learn about Indigenous health, healthcare-related communication, anatomy and physiology. The course is designed to support your learning needs and develop your study skills. On completing the Undergraduate Certificate Introduction to Nursing and Midwifery (and provided you meet English language requirements), you will be eligible to use the credits you've gained towards further study of a: Bachelor of Nursing Bachelor of MidwiferyAdvanced standing may be granted for some of or all the subjects you successfully complete. If further study is your intention, be sure to check the requirements of your preferred undergraduate degree to determine how many credits can be transferred. * Discounted course fees for Undergraduate Certificates are only available to domestic students who apply by 26 February 2021 and enrol in Semester 1 2021. Structure

This 40-credit point course consist of four (4) specialist elective units. This course consists of a combination of introductory and first-year degree subjects, designed to help you develop core knowledge in health and the necessary skills for successful university studies.A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 40 credit points (cp) as detailed below. Standard entry requirements

Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent). Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate III level or higher. Successful completion of at least 0.5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma. Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications. Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 125 or higher. Successful completion of a recognised tertiary preparation course. Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.Please note: If you wish to continue your studies with a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery once you have completed the Undergraduate Certificate Introduction to Nursing and Midwifery, you will need to meet the English language requirements for these courses. On applying for these Bachelor's degrees, you will have to provide evidence of English language proficiency. For example, a year 12 education in Australia or an IELTS test with an overall score of 7.
